NeoCon is a three-day event and is one of the largest and most influential tradeshows in the United States centered on commercial interiors. Held in the historic Merchandise Mart (“The Mart”) in Chicago, Illinois and featuring over 650 exhibitors, NeoCon is known for bringing together vibrant colors, stunning textiles, and the latest, most cutting-edge designs, all under one (enormous) roof. It is a truly spectacular exhibition of the best of commercial interior design. The Bridge Group had the pleasure of attending NeoCon this June. Here are our key takeaways.
Nature
Influences from nature were seen throughout in color palettes, textures, and biophilic elements. A marked effort was also made to provide transparency into the manufacturing process, highlighting sustainability and responsible sourcing practices. The results were relaxing and stress-reducing environments, promoting health and well-being.
Color
Keeping in theme with the natural elements, bold natural hues were a centerpiece of many collections. Bold is always beautiful but this year the emphasis was on organic shades, such as brick, green, yellow, cobalt, and burgundy.
Style
A continuation of organic elements was seen in the designs themselves. Curves took centerstage over sharp geometric shapes, promoting comfort and ergonomics. Bold combinations of patterns and textures as well as innovative hybrid work solutions created workspaces that are beautiful to behold and inspiring for work.
